Description:
Shelor Motor Mile is excited to host the second year of the Growing the Future local talent competition for high school students and award schools and students over $50,000 in prize money. The Growing the Future Talent Show Finale will be held Saturday, November 23rd at Blacksburg High School Auditorium at 7 pm.

Two acts from each of the 9 local high schools in the New River Valley will compete to win the grand prize of $2,500 and $20,000 for their school. Potentially, schools could win up to $30,000 if their two acts take 1st and 2nd place.

Each high school held their own Growing the Future Talent Shows and the top two acts have been selected to move on. Shelor Motor Mile provides the cash awards for the high school talent shows in addition to the finale.

Cash awards are as follows; grand prize $20,000 to high school, $2,500 to student, 2nd place $10,000 to high school, $1,500 to student, third place $5,000 to high school and $1,000 to student, and 4th place $2,500 to school and $500 to student.

Contestants will be judged on appropriateness, creativity, skill, timing, and quality of entertainment. A representative of Hodges, Jones, and Mabry P.C will calculate and present results.

K92’s “Mornin’ Thang” will ensure an entertaining talent show finale as they host the event. Come out and enjoy a great show and support local talented students. Finale tickets are available for purchase at each of the 9 local high schools. Schools keep 100% of ticket sales.
