The Blacksburg Library presents Poetry Inspired by the Artwork of Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo on Sunday, November 17, 2013.
Dr. Carolyn Kreiter-Foronda, Virginia Poet Laureate Emerita, will share poems written in the voices of renowned Mexican artists Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo as featured in her new released collection titled "The Embrace". Research trips to Mexico City, Coyoacan, and other significant locales to view the artists’ paintings, homes, and studios will be highlighted in images that bring to life the terrain of these intriguing artists whose popularity in recent years has soared. Additional poems inspired by the artwork of Leonardo da Vinci, Georgia O’Keeffe and Vincent van Gogh will also be presented.
Presented in partnership with the Blacksburg Regional Art Association and the Blacksburg Library.
