The Blacksburg Library offers a special presentation "Avoiding Hostile or Violent Confrontations at Home, at Work, and in Public Places" on Thursday, November 7, 2013.

Lieutenant Kit Cummings with the Blacksburg Police Crisis Intervention Team will describe warning signs which predict violence and actions you can take to protect yourself and your loved ones.

Unexpected violence can unfortunately occur in a variety of environments, even those places that are familiar and typically feel secure. Learn tips from an expert and improve your instincts to stay safe and avoid hostile situations.
