The Phi Beta Kappa Mu of Virginia Chapter presents a public lecture with Dr. Tim Bromage of NYU titled "What Cells will do for Global Climate Change" on Wednesday, November 6th in the Virginia Bioinformatics Institute Auditorium.

Rhythmic changes in the distance between earth and sun, and tectonic movements of the earth’s crust, together resulted in changes in worldwide climate 2.5 million years ago. By process of natural selection, most African mammals developed larger bones and teeth to cope with changing vegetation.

These interconnected events occurred over evolutionary and geological stretches of time through the medium of climate change and its effects on organisms. There is no discernible design, no obvious structure, but there is the inexorable connection of events through time that links every aspect of our selves and our world to every other aspect of the galaxy and beyond.
