The New River Land Trust presents LandJam 2013 at The Lyric on Saturday, November 9th featuring the music of Liam Kelly and the Streetsweepers and Laura Beth and Clover Hollow.

Laura Beth and Clover Hollow started playing together in 2007, just over the ridge from a beautiful rolling valley, Clover Hollow, nested in the Blue Ridge of Appalachia. The music that seems to seep out of the mountains of Virginia like pure water from a mountain spring, found its way into the heart of our music. The tradition of music we've found here has shaped the core of who we are... growing ever deeper roots and ever higher branches, offering shade to any who care to come and sit for a while.

Liam Kelly is no stranger to song, but don’t call him a singer-songwriter. He’s been around the block more times than he can count, taking laps past punk rock, Irish music, Appalachian old-time, alt-country, nautical music, and French chansons. The arsenal is vast — banjo, guitar, accordion, drums, harmonica, fiddle, and kazoo are all fair game.

The New River Land Trust is a local non-profit formed to conserve farmland, forests, open spaces and historic places in Virginia's New River region. Since 2002, the Land Trust has worked hard to help conserve over 44,000 acres in the New River region including 22 miles of New River frontage. This performance is a celebration of the New River region’s rural heritage and culture with all proceeds going to support the New River Land Trust’s conservation work.
