Description:
The City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation offers a free evening of Star Gazing on Saturday, November 23rd.

Whales and fishes, sea-goats and other constellations associated with water populate the fall skies. Join us this evening to observe these patterns, and some of the interesting star clusters, nebulae and galaxies of the season.

* Monthly stargazing programs on the Blue Ridge Parkway (mile marker 139) allow you to meet other people as you peer through large telescopes to distant stars, planets and galaxies. All programs are offered through the City of Roanoke Parks and Recreation and are FREE, but advance registration is required by calling 540-853-2236 at least five business days before each program. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.

The programs are led by Frank Baratta, an experienced amateur astronomer and member of the Roanoke Valley Astronomical Society.

Registration fee: FREE
Register by: November 20, 2013
