The Christiansburg Library presents Jazz, Blues, Gospel and Soul with Wornie Reed on Saturday, September 28th.
Dr. Wornie Reed, Director of the Virginia Tech Race and Social Policy Research Center, will show and talk about photos that he took of musicians and vocal artists between 1971 and 1974. He will also play recorded music of each performer, including Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Arthea Franklin, Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, Inez Andrews and many more.
