New River Community Actions's To Our House organization presents a special Benefit Concert featuring the music of Amber Collins and Turning Point, The Rum Runners, Tim Mills and Friends and Alleghany Strings on Saturday, November 2nd at the Little River Bluegrass Barn in Radford.

Tickets include all four bands and a BBQ dinner prepared by Due south BBQ. Advance tickets can be purchased at Due South BBQ, Riner Food and The Sportsman. Children under 12 are free.

Amber Collins & Turning Point is a new band that combines bluegrass instrument virtuosity with Amber's unparalleled lead singing to bring a highly dynamic and polished sound to bluegrass music that you don’t want to miss!

Amber Collins has been part of the bluegrass and acoustic music scene since the tender age of 14 performing here and abroad in the band No Speed Limit. She now has a newly formed band in January of 2013 called Amber Collins & Turning Point to produce a high energy and precise sound most commonly found in contemporary bluegrass.

Amber can deliver an angelic touch to gospel favorites or powerful soul-filled performances of songs from the late 90's to today. She also performs many of her own compositions that displays her unique singing style that could be characterized as Dolly Parton meets Grace Potter.

The Rum Runners are a local three-piece honky tonk band that play country and classic rock covers, as well as original tracks.

Tim Mills is a bluegrass musician from Pilot, Virginia. Tim plays banjo and a “little” guitar, as he puts it. He is truly a very accomplished musician and plays in a band called Crossties.

Alleghany Strings is a local gospel group consisting of two guitars, a zither, a banjo and a bass along with a lead male singer and a female harmony.

This is a family friendly and alcohol free event.

To Our House is an organization formed to engage our community in providing temporary thermal shelter and compassionate support for homeless men who seek such shelter. Our objective is to partner with faith-based and community organizations, local businesses, and individual volunteers to carry out our mission.

The Little River Bluegrass Barn is located at 7800 Little River Dam Road in Radford, Virginia.
