Description:
The Riverway 5k and One Mile Fun Run will be held on Saturday, September 28th at Bisset Park in Radford and will help to kick off the second annual RiverFest.

The 5k and Fun Run course will circle Bisset Park on the footpaths. There are age and gender divisions. An awards ceremony and drawings for door prizes will follow the race. Results will be posted on http://www.runaboutsports.com

The proceeds from the event will go to the American Heart Association.

Schedule:
• 7:30-8:45 am: Registration
• 9 am: 5K Start
• 10 am: One Mile Fun Run

A one-mile fun run will be held at 10 am and the fun run is free and open to children and adults of all ages. All participants in the fun run will receive a medal.

Registration on race day begins at 7:30 am and will close promptly at 8:45 am.

The race is being sponsored by Carilion New River Medical Center, Run About Sports and the Radford Visitor’s Center.

The Riverway 5K will kick off a full day of family fun with RiverFest! Scheduled activities include a chili cook-off with tastings, corn hole and horseshoe tournaments, live music by Southern Nights, children’s activities, craft vendors, food and a beverage garden.
