Radford University Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with a Concert.
As part of the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at Radford University, the Department of Music guitar faculty and students will present a guitar concert on Wednesday, September 18. Selections for this will be reflective of the great diversity of musical styles of Spain and Latin America.
On the program are some of the most representative composers of the Spanish and Latin American guitar such as Isaac Albéniz, Joaquín Rodrigo, Leo Brouwer, Maximo Diego Pujol, Astor Piazzolla, and Heitor Villa-lobos.
This is a multi-departmental effort and if sponsored by RU’s Department of Music, Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures, and the student organization Sigma Delta Pi, the Spanish Honor Society.
This concert is free and open to the public. It starts at 8:00 p.m. in the auditorium of the Bonnie Hurlburt Student Center.
