Description:
As the leaves turn color and mornings and evenings get chillier, excitement is building for the return of the Burnt Creative markets in Blacksburg. The Burnt Creative Makers’ Market will feature fine artists, makers, and vintage resellers who have been eagerly working away in their studios or treasure hunting after a busy spring show season.
The first market of the fall will be Saturday, September 14th, from 9am to 3pm. Conveniently located adjacent to the Blacksburg Farmers Market, at Roanoke Street and Draper Road, visitors can enjoy an entire morning spent in Downtown Blacksburg with music, food, and shopping.
The Burnt Creative Market is not your typical craft fair. As part of a growing trend nationwide, Burnt Creative reaches out to a whole new generation of makers who pride themselves on their fresh perspective while continuing to honor their crafts’ past. A rise in appreciation for the quality of design and craftsmanship in products from the past allow vintage collectors to set up seamlessly among these makers. Together, the vintage and the handcrafts serve to illustrate the tastes and styles of a diverse community of people. There is an emphasis on the idea of “heirloom” that both the handcrafts and the vintage goods embody. As you walk up and down the street, you’ll be transported from the past to the present and back again.
New to the markets this fall will be a select few fine artists who embody the aesthetic and ideals of the Burnt Creative Market. Visitors can look forward to an ever-increasing presence of new and interesting artists participating in its markets.
We'll also be continuing our fundraiser for Raft Crisis Hotline by selling handmade picture frames for $15 each. All proceeds go to further the amazing work Raft does in the NRV. Check them out at:
