Description:
Join the first ever Hokie Half Marathon and 5K on Sunday, September 15th starting and finishing at the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center.

Come to beautiful Blacksburg, Virginia and run with the Hokies! Enjoy live music on the course with plenty of cheering. Water and Gatorade will be available every two miles and Gu at mile eight plus porta potties along the course. Earn the Hokie Bird finisher medal and great swag!

The Hokie Half Marathon is limited to 3,000 participants and the Hokie 5K is limited to 1,000 runners and walkers. The Hokie Marathon has a four hour time limit for participants. The course will close at 4 hours (about 18:20 pace per mile). Those still on the course will be asked to board the bus that is picking up those who have yet to finish.

- 7:00am - Hokie Half Marathon start!
- 7:20am - Hokie 5K start!
- 11:00am - Course Closed
- 12:00pm - Last buses leave for Blacksburg High School Parking Lot

Early registration prior to September 1, 2013 is $80 for the marathon and $22 for the 5k. After September 1, it goes up to $90 for the Half and $25 for the 5K.

Entry fee for the Hokie Half includes bus transportation to and from the start/finish, parking, race, shirt, post race food, finisher medal and commemorative gift.

Packet Pick-Up will be held on on Saturday, September 14th (noon-9pm) at the Inn at Virginia Tech. There will be NO packet pick-up on race day. You are allowed to pick up a friend's packet as long as you have a note from them to do so and a copy of a picture ID with their name.

Additionally, there will be an expo at the Inn at Virginia Tech during the Packet Pick-Up. The expo will have all sorts of VT wear and also all things running. The Expo will run from 12-9pm.

The first four miles of the course are on roads, then onto the Huckleberry Trail (bike trail) for six miles and the last three point one miles are on roads and bike trails.

Parking:
Those registering earliest will get the closest parking spots to the start/finish line. A parking location will be assigned to each participant. Those parking at Blacksburg High School will take a shuttle bus to the start. Shuttle buses start running at 5am and will run throughout the day with the last buses leaving the finish line at noon for the high school.

The proceeds from the event will benefit the VT Running Club, local schools and charitable programs such as March of Dimes, Micah's Backpack, and Library for Literacy.
