The Blacksburg Children’s Museum, a non-profit, emerging children’s museum for the New River Valley, will host multiple hands-on exhibits in one of the empty retail spaces at the First and Main shopping district on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Geared for children ages two to 10, activities will focus on imaginative play, regional heritage, art, science, and technology. Exhibits will include:

• Child-sized grocery store, sponsored by Annie Kays
• Be a veterinarian, sponsored by Mountain View Humane
• Spy kids, designed by a local middle school student
• Marble run, designed by Eddie’s Mind
• Fire station, sponsored by Blacksburg Fire Department
• “Make and take” art project, led by art teacher Lee Worley
