Description:
The Filipino American Student Association at Virginia Tech (FASA) proudly presents its 25th Annual Culture Night - Pagsisikap: Perseverance on Saturday, May 4th in Burruss Auditorium.
Join us as we celebrate our 25th annual Culture Night, showcasing and paying tribute to Filipino culture through a show filled with traditional Filipino dances, modern choreography, and a fashion show!
This year's script follows Gabriel Mendoza, a young man forced to assume command of his family’s estate when his father passes away. Longing to join the fight against the Japanese, Gabriel wishes to join the resistance; however, his actions prove to have unforeseen consequences. With his mother firmly against the decision and the pressures to provide for his family weighing down on him, will his ultimate decision be a mistake? Or will his perseverance allow him to triumph?
During intermission, we will award one FASA member with the prestigious Rhonyll Seballos Scholarship, and also announce the winner of the raffle for our philanthropy, Advancement of Rural Kids, Inc. Rural Kids is a non-profit organization aimed to improve primary education for rural communities in developing countries.
