Description:
Enjoy the ancient Greek tragedy Agamemnon at the Glade Road Growing farm in Blacksburg performed nightly from Thursday, April 25th - Sunday, April 28th at 8 pm each night. The play is directed by Aaron Horst and Amy Splitt.

Written by Aeschylus circa 458 B.C.E, Agamemnon is the first play in the tragic trilogy, Oresteia. The action centers around the return of Agamemnon, King of Argos, from the Trojan War. Waiting at home for him is his wife, Clytemnestra, and her lover, Aegisthus, who have each been plotting revenge on the King for ten years. Generations of bloodshed haunt the royal families of Argos. Traumatized by war and the hideous legacy of their rulers, the townspeople teeter on the brink of insanity.

Tickets are $8. Please dress in layers as we will be performing in a barn open on one side.

The farm is located at 2351 Glade Road, about 1.5 miles down Glade Road on the left, just after the turn for the Heritage Park and just before the sharp turn in Glade Road. PLEASE please please be careful on the turn for oncoming traffic!

We are only 3 miles from downtown so bicycling and carpooling are encouraged.
