The Virginia Tech Department of Music presents a special guest artist recital with the Minor 4th Trombone Quartet on Wednesday, March 20th in the Squires Recital Salon.

The Minor 4th Trombone Quartet presents a guest artist recital entitled Bach to Boyz 2 Men. The Quartet performs works by Bach, Bourgeois, Koetsier, Boyz 2 Men, and Yunes.

The Minor 4th Trombone Quartet is a chamber ensemble praised for its high level of musicianship and technical ability. The M4TQ formed in 2005 while attending graduate school at The University of Texas at Austin. The ensemble reunited in 2009 to begin touring and promoting the trombone and chamber music.

The Minor 4th Trombone Quartet maintains an active performance schedule. They have recently performed at several universities in the state of Texas, the 2011 Big 12 Trombone Conference and 2012 Texas Music Educators Association's Convention. The ensemble has also been invited to perform at the Eastern Trombone Workshop, International Trombone Festival and Brazilian Trombone Festival. Devoted to education, the M4TQ’s members have given clinics at the Texas Bandmasters Association’s Convention and have selected the All-State band etudes on numerous occasions. The ensemble also continues to engage in the public schools through their outreach programs.
