Join the inaugural meeting of the Hokie Objective Onomastics Society hosted at the Artful Place located within The Creekmore Law Firm in downtown Blacksburg on Tuesday, March 5th.

Where does the word HOKIE come from anyway? Does anyone actually "own" it? Didn't it come from the Old Country, by hokie?! Can you be forced to stop using it in reference to your business, goods and services? What can you do, or should you do, if you get a nastygram in the mail telling you you can't use it?

We'll help dispel and debunk the myths and misconceptions about its usage at the inaugural meeting of the Hokie Objective Onomastics Society!

Join us for some fun, snacks and refreshments as we explore this topic of interest for every Hokie up and down Main Street and beyond. We'll hear from Keith Finch, "the wily Blacksburg barrister who beat Virginia Tech's four law firms like a dusty rug in the Hokie Real Estate scandal" - well, at least, that's how Dan Casey called it!
