Description:
The Cellar welcomes jazz musician F.M. Turner to the stage. The show begins around 9 pm upstairs.

An award winning bass and violin player in many styles, ranging from Orchestral work to Appalachian mountain music and Chicago-style blues, Turner has performed as a freelance bassist and fiddler with Joan Rivers, The Celtibillies, The Floorboards, Junk DNA, The Hot Seats,The Roanoke Symphony, New River Valley Symphony, Ben Jones ("Cooter" from the Dukes of Hazzard show), and once appeared with The Duke Ellington Orchestra (sans Duke).

Mr. Turner currently teaches Music Technology courses at Virginia Tech. He has also taught string bass, guitar, and old time fiddle to a wide range of ages in Blacksburg, Richmond, and Houston. From 2007-2010 he taught bass and guitar classes at San Jacinto College, in Houston, Texas. He is the author of Sonic Vitamins; a Progressive Study in Jazz Theory. (2010 Flat 5 Press.)
