Description:
The Iranian Society of Virginia Tech will be celebrating the Persian New Year (Nowruz) on Saturday, March 23rd in the Owens Banquet Hall on the campus of Virginia Tech.
This celebration has its roots from over 3000 years ago—celebrating the arrival of Spring and new beginnings. The society would like to extend a cordial invitation to students, faculty, and the general public. Come celebrate a fresh start to the year and the most important holiday in the Persian Calendar!
There will be lots of entertainment including stand-up comedy, Persian/Middle Eastern dancing, and live classical and pop music. Plated dinner and dessert will also be served (Halal and Vegetarian options available). Discover more about Persian culture and enjoy a night alongside your Iranian neighbors. Semi-formal attire is suggested.
Ticket sales for dinner end on March 18th. General Admission tickets will be available until the event day.
