In honor of Black History Month, the Newman Library presents two speakers to discuss topics in on Black History on Thursday, February 21st in the Newman Library Learning Commons located on the second floor.

Kira Dietz (Special Collections) will talk about how African-American cooking became an integral part of what we now think of as American cuisine.

Dr. Daniel Thorp will present his research and findings on African-American History in Montgomery County from 1850-1910.

Light refreshments will be served and this event is open to the public.
