In honor of Black History Month, the Newman Library presents two speakers to discuss topics in segregated Virginia on Wednesday, February 20th in the Newman Library Learning Commons located on the second floor.
Kira Dietz (Special Collections) will talk about how African-American cooking became an integral part of what we now think of as American cuisine.
Dr. Brian Katen (School of Architecture and Design) shares fascinating images and findings from his work on parallel recreational worlds in segregated Virginia including Blacksburg's own Yellow Sulphur Springs Resort.
