Description:
The Radford University Department of Theatre and Cinema presents "Major Barbara" by George Bernard Shaw in the Pridemore Playhouse. Showtimes are April 18-20 at 8 pm and a matinee on April 21st at 2 pm.
Salvation Army Major Barbara Undershaft wants nothing of her arms-making father’s “bloody” money. But what if it helps her help others? Is poverty the greatest evil after all? You decide who wins the battles between father and daughter, wealth and salvation, love and war, as they all play out through the witty dialogue and quintessential characters of George Bernard Shaw’s timely classic.
Tickets are $8 for general admission, $5 for RU faculty and staff, $5 for senior discount (55+), $5 for group rates (more than 10) and free to students with RU ID. Tickets go on sale the week prior to the event at the Porterfield Box Office or by calling (540) 831-5289. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday, noon to 6 pm, and one hour before each performance.
