Celebrate George Washington’s birthday with this simple craft and share these interesting facts:
• George Washington was the first president of the United States.
• He is known as “The Father of our Country.”
• It is not a fact that George Washington chopped down a cherry tree. His biographer, Mason Weems, made this up to illustrate how honest Washington was in dealing with people. It is a fact that Washington was an honest person.
• George Washington led the American victory over Great Britain in the American Revolutionary War.
• He lived from February 22, 1732 to December 14, 1799.
