Description:
Join the Blacksburg Price House Nature Center on Saturday, February 2nd for a special program entitled "Fur, Feathers, & Scales" with Dr. Kerri Cooper-Bailey, DVM and Mr. Phillip Bailey, a licensed falconer.

Who’s venomous and who’s not? Can you tell?
Learn about owls, kestrels and venomous vs. non venomous reptiles... with lots of live specimens including:
- Banded/Reticulated Gilas
- Eastern coral snake
- Scarlet king snake
- Eastern hognose snake
- Black timber rattlesnake (called “black copperhead, because it has a cut off tail)
- Green baby timber rattlesnake (called “Mexican garter snake”)
- Barn Owl
- Kestrel

Don’t worry, the venomous species will be specially contained and in a secured (off limits to hands young and old) section of the nature center.

Our Volunteers from VT Biological Sciences and VT College of Natural Resources will also be on hand to help you play and learn using our exhibits, the grounds, and our storybook library.

Limited parking is available in the Nature Center Driveway, on Wharton Street, and within two short blocks on Clay Street at spout spring parking strip and along Church Street in the public parking lot.

Admission is free, donations are welcome.
