Description:
Join the Blacksburg Price House Nature Center on Saturday, January 12th for a special program entitled "Our Wild Cats... Close By and Beyond".
Come chirp, meow, hiss, roar, but not purr. Did you know that cheetahs chirp, or that almost every wildcat species on earth is endangered or threatened with extinction?
Come learn about the sometimes fearsome, but always majestic, large cats of the world including far-away tigers and lions and close by (oh my!) cougars. We will explore how people and wild cats have interacted throughout time. On exhibit will be our full cougar pelt. We’ll have some predator-prey games inside, or outside. Come for a great time in the New Year at SEEDS - Blacksburg Nature Center.
Our Volunteers from VT Biological Sciences, VT College of Natural Resources will be on hand to help you play and learn using our exhibits, the grounds, and our storybook library.
Limited parking is available in the Nature Center Driveway, on Wharton Street, and within two short blocks on Clay Street at spout spring parking strip and along Church Street in the public parking lot.
Admission is free, donations are welcome.
