You are invited to attend a Dialogue on Race at the Blacksburg Community Center on January 19th, 2013 for a community discussion on race.

The Dialogue on Race community summit will present an open and cordial environment that will enable us to raise and discuss area racial concerns. Led by an experienced facilitator, we will engage these concerns and work toward developing solutions. The main objective of the summit is to develop an approach to guide us in resolving some of these racial problems.

Racial problems persist in Montgomery County. While many African Americans in our community are aware of these issues, they are not often discussed in the wider community. To bring these problems to light and begin to address them from many points of view, several Montgomery County organizations are collaborating to host this dialogue.

This coming January, during the next celebration of the life and work of Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, we believe gathering to sit together and work on making Montgomery County more of the "Beloved Community" Dr. King often spoke about, will be a wonderful way to follow his example and honor his memory.

Lunch and beverages will be served.
