Description:
Join the park ranger for the First Day Hike at Claytor Lake State Park on Tuesday, January 1st at the standard campground parking lot.

Schedule:
1 pm - Looking to exercise more and cut back on the calories in 2013? Here is the perfect opportunity to pursue your New Year's resolution on the first day of the year. Embark on a leisurely mile long hike with a park ranger. Park at the Beach facility and walk over the hill to the amphitheater where we will gather to identify some interesting edibles along the way, and discuss how they have been consumed historically and culturally.

2 pm - Gather at the park amphitheater located over the hill from the beach facility where we will begin a leisurely stroll to investigate which of Claytor Lake State Park's animals have stayed to weather the winter weather. We will scan bare trees, water, and land for all animal homes. The park is home to many animals, but not all weather the winter in the same way so come explore who's still home today!
