Description:
The Pulaski Theatre welcomes the Blacksburg Community Band to the stage for a special Christmas Concert on Sunday, December 9th. This orchestra will have you swept away in a winter wonderland dazzling in festive charm.

Our Holiday Concert will include a number of seasonal favorites that will be sure to get everyone in the holiday spirit. The concert will start off with “A Christmas Festival”. This is a collection of Christmas songs that was originally written for the Boston Pops by staff arranger, Leroy Anderson. Other selections will include the traditional favorite, “Green sleeves” arranged by Alfred Reed; a contemporary work “Overture to a Winter Festival” by James Curnow that has a unique blend of traditional Christmas melodies; a collection of Chanukah songs, “A Chanukah Celebration” to celebrate the Chanukah season; the ever-popular “Sleigh Ride” by Leroy Anderson; and a number of additional songs of the season.

The concert will end with a Sing-Along where the audience is invited to participate in the singing of Christmas carols to ensure that everyone leaves with the Christmas spirit!

The Blacksburg Community Band is an all-volunteer community organization formed in 1989 under the auspices of the Town of Blacksburg, Department of Parks and Recreation. The ensemble performs in an average of 25 concerts each year throughout the New River Valley, reaching over 7,000 people.

Doors open at 3:30 pm. Tickets are only available at the door.
