Description:
Christiansburg Library is celebrating “A Victorian Christmas with Charles Dickens” on Sunday, December 2nd.
The afternoon features a shortened version of A Christmas Carol with readings by Franklyn Moreno as Dickens and Scrooge. Timothy Scripa will portray Fezziwig, a favorite Dickens character, who leads the reels and games of the Fezziwig Ball. Festive music will be played by Tim Thornton and Mike Gangloff on fiddle, guitar and other instruments.
Refreshments include Twelfth Cake, Plum Pudding and a punch humorously called Smoking Bishop (the library version will omit the alcohol).
It’s not required, but all who would like to may come dressed as Twelfth Night Characters to add to the Victorian holiday spirit. Stop by the Library at 125 Sheltman Street for a “character card” to inspire your costume.
Let the Library know you’re coming, by contacting Pamela Hale at 382-6965, ext 14 or phale@mfrl.org.
