Champs welcomes the House of Fools with The Kicks to the stage downstairs for a show on Saturday, December 8th. The show begins around 9 pm.

Relying only on each other for over two years, House of Fools has been recording in their Greensboro, North Carolina home studio, devoid of any outside influence. The result is a cathartic offering: House of Fools versus the beast.

versus the beast sets into motion a fresh start for this North Carolina sextet. An early career - although bolstered by three years of national touring and a Universal Records published album - was plagued with label woes, but a legal victory ultimately released the band from the now defunct Drive Thru Records. The 13 songs speak volumes to the trials this band has faced in its five years; an aural portrait of House of Fools versus the beast.

House of Fools have crafted an earnest and intrepid rock and roll record. Dueling electric guitars and poignant keys branch from the roots of a sturdy and syncopated rhythm section, while colorful melodies and four-part harmonies provide the flora for this tree of Rock Revival.

The Kicks may be young, but they are quick to admit that in a decidedly non-hipster way, they do indeed plan to rock you. Never interested in moping, navel gazing or wallowing in the emotional muck and mire that permeates so much of the modern music culture, Jordan Phillips (lead vocals, rhythm guitar,) Adam Stark (lead guitar, keys, backing vocals,) Gabriel Anderson (bass, backing vocals) and Lucas Cummins (drums) intend to take your breath away with massive melodies, epic guitar riffs, irresistible rhythms and lyrics that practically force you to sing along. Though perfectly comfortable in clubs, this is music made for stadiums and with every intention that's exactly where The Kicks are heading.
