Description:
Kids of all ages are invited to participate in Wheels and Wagons, a free event at the First & Main Shopping Center.
Get up close to dump trucks, snow plows, fire trucks, police cars, buses, and more! Kids six and under, enter your tricked out wheels or wagon in the contest and parade. Go for a ride in a fire truck and the articulated bus! Paint the snow plow blade!
The students of the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine will be hosting child-oriented activities and learning experiences including bicycle safety, face painting, and learning how to manage small cuts and scrapes while building your own first aid kits!
Additionally the Children's Museum of Blacksburg will have a special sneak peak of the future of the museum setup between On a Whim and Bull & Bones. Featuring LEGO robotics, silk screening, child-sized grocery store and your kids can dress up in real uniforms such as a doctor, fire chief, colonial dresses and more. The sneak peak is available from 11 am - 5 pm.
Decorate your wheels! Mom and Dad can help too!
Schedule:
- Entry drop off and registration: 10-10:30 am.
- The parade will start at 11 am.
- Wagons and wheels must be picked up by 12:30 pm.
Parade categories (for 6 & under):
- Wagons
- Wheels (bikes, trikes, scooters - no battery-operated wheels)
Prizes will be awarded to the top three entries in each category.
The official “wheels watchers” will help you unload your wheels and mind them while you go park your car and have a wheelie good time!
