Description:
In the first event of its kind on the Radford University campus, the American Sign Language (ASL) Club is hosting a talent show to demonstrate how the deaf community can enjoy music.
The Deaf Jam Talent Show will be free and open to the public Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in Peters Hall B112.
Featuring 12 songs as well as a performance by students in the university's Department of Dance, the evening will be a showcase for the talents of ASL Club members, more than 20 of whom will participate.
Speaking about Thursday's event, member Amanda Hale said, "It's very interesting because, since American Sign Language is a language itself, each student or group has spent lots of time and practice switching the songs from English to pure ASL."
