Watch classic films under the stars outside Virginia Tech's Newman Library facing Torgersen Hall. This evening's films focus on radiation and bicycle safety.
Note: In case of rain, the screenings will take place in the 6th floor boardroom of the library.
Newman Library has a 16mm film collection of approximately 1600 titles. This collection has been built over the last 60 years, and contains films on subjects ranging from agriculture to metallurgy to war as well as several feature films. There are also several films in the collection that were produced on campus at VT in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, and 80s.
Periodically, we pull select titles from this collection and put them on display in our front yard.
These screenings are free to all, and all are welcome. Pets are welcome too, as long as they're crowd-friendly. Free popcorn will also be available.
