Description:
Join the Highlander Polar Plunge into the New River with all proceeds benefiting the Special Olympics. The event is sponsored by the Radford City Police Department.

The Polar Plunge is open to the entire community who wants to help raise funds for the Special Olympics and is part of the Radford University's Winter Homecoming Weekend. The event takes place at Dudley's Landing located in Bisset Park.

In order to participate, plungers must raise or pay a minimum of $30. Plungers who raise more than $30 become eligible for some "cool" prizes:

- $50 - Polar Plunge T-shirt (T-shirts also will be on sale at the event)
- $100 - Polar Plunge Towel

Prize packages also will be given (at 11:15 a.m.) to the top individual fundraiser, the top fundraising team and to the best costume.

Check-in will begin at 10 am and the actual splashdown will take place at 11:30 am.
