Mariak Machok Chuor will discuss his life during the decades-long Sudanese Civil War, his journey to the United States, and will read from his book, “Rebuilding What Had Been Destroyed.”
Mariak Machok Chuor is one of the Lost Boys from Sudan, a group of young boys and girls who were forced out by decades of Civil War in their homeland. Mariak uses his dark yet inspiring story to shine light on perseverance, self-motivation, and the grace of God, saying: “With God’s help, you can to turn tragedy into triumph.
The event will be held in Room G of the Graduate Life Center. This event is free and open to the public.
The office of Multicultural Programs and Services and Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources, and Related Sciences organization are sponsoring this event.
