Nancy Norton came to the making of art late in her life, finding in stained glass a way to both express and create wonder and beauty.
Her non-traditional abstract stained glass designs have purposely pushed the boundaries of the medium, often incorporating natural and found objects among the colored stained glass. This exhibit, hung on solid walls instead of the usual glass panes, presented Nancy with an opportunity to develop a new form which she calls Stained Glass Collage. Stained Glass Collage encourages the appreciation of form, line and texture as well as the patterns and vibrant colors of glass.
Nancy’s exhibit will be on display at the Blacksburg Library during November and December.
