Description:
The "Star of Bethlehem" is a timely holiday show that explores the happenings in the sky some 2,000 years ago. Who were the Wise Men, and were the only three? What sent these Zoroastrian priests on their journey? What were they watching in the sky during their travels? How do we know the time frame for various events in this time? What did the various royal court astronomers from this time observe? What did they all think of the things that we now know about such as comets, nova and supernova explosions, and planetary conjunctions?

Travel back in history to this special time, trying to put ourselves in their place but with the perspective of our current knowledge astronomical phenomena. See the new research into what the Magi may have seen to start them on their journeys.

The RU Planetarium is located in Curie Hall room 43.

As usual all shows are free and everyone is invited. Enjoy our Planetarium shows every Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:30 pm.
