A managing director in the Investment Banking Division at Goldman Sachs & Co. will be the featured speaker at Radford University’s Global Capitalism Distinguished Speaker Series, sponsored by BB&T in the Hurlburt Student Center Auditorium.

Jason E. Silvers, who holds an M.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and a J.D. from Yale Law School, is a member of both the health care and the mergers and acquisitions groups at Goldman Sachs. He joined the company in 2002 and served as business unit manager for its health care group in 2005. Silvers is also a trustee for FEGS Health and Human Services System, one of the largest and most diversified not-for-profit health and human services organizations in the United States.

“The Radford University community has a great opportunity to learn from a distinguished business leader active in an industry of great concern to us as individuals and as a nation,” said Dean Faye W. Gilbert of the College of Business and Economics (COBE). “It will be enlightening and inspiring to hear Dr. Silvers’ insights on the financial and health care industries.”

The Global Capitalism Distinguished Speaker Series is an ongoing project between BB&T and COBE to stimulate thought and discussion about capitalism, the tenets of free enterprise and the best practices of successful organizations.
