Description:
Musica Viva's opening concert of its 2011-2012 season features the Old City String Quartet. This group was founded in Philadelphia at the Curtis Institute of Music in 2008.

The Old City String Quartet was the Gold medalist and Grand Prize Winner of the 2010 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Their recent recording of Mendelssohn and Debussy quartets is described as 'phenomenal and disproportionate to the age of the group.'

This is the first appearance by the group with Musica Viva, but for sure it will not be the last!
