Description:
The Guitar Club at Virginia Tech presents a recital by classical guitarist, Michael Patilla. Mr. Patilla has performed extensively throughout North America, Europe and Central America, and has been warmly received by audiences and critics. Patilla has performed as concerto soloist with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the Eastman Chamber Orchestra, the Masterworks Festival Orchestra, the Orquesta Filarmónica de Honduras, the Red Mountain Chamber Orchestra, and the Starkville Symphony Orchestra. He has also been a featured performer at numerous festivals, such as City Stages, Crescendo Hungary, Piccolo Spoleto, the Tennessee Guitar Festival, and the Volos Winter Guitar Festival in Greece. Michael Patilla holds a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music and is a frequent international concert performer. This program will include works by American composers David Cullen, James Marron and Scott Robbins, along with music from Latin America. Patilla currently serves as Associate Professor of Guitar at Mississippi State University.

Tickets will be available at the door.
