Nelly Kate is stirring a sound that will thrum in your bones and echo within the chambers of your heart. With haunting lyrics to light the way, she builds layered melodies that swell and descend like the hills she once called home. Lilting, minimal and ever-imaginative vocals take us on an adventure where global conflicts and interpersonal struggles alike are touched upon with honesty and gravity. With a cache of experimental instruments from antiquated typewriters, outdated Casio tones, and homemade music boxes, Nelly creates, 'a warmth akin to nostalgic memories of youthful days spent playing pretend' [from macrock.org]. Nelly currently resides in Staunton, Va.

TEEN DREAMS (from Charlottesville, Virginia) - "Dylan Mulshine, also of Rhythm Bandit, Krull, Cat Sex and a bunch of other Charlottesville, VA projects, is a crazy man with a heart bigger than you could dream of taking in. Last time I saw the guy perform, his set consisted of throaty moaning into a microphone with no effects while push-moshing with the audience, and then calling his girlfriend on speakerphone. The performance before that was closer to what this cassette has to offer: some sort of warped, fucked up, abstract (dare I say) "pop" created with synths and various mic'd things consisting of (but not limited to) his own unforgettable voice. Forget what you know about Pocahaunted, Ariel Pink, Robedoor, Lamborghini Crystal... although Dylan would fit perfectly on a tour with any of those artists, his loosely-improvised, trippy, slightly noisy, oddly melodic compositions are just as fun as they are hallucinatory. In the 70's, he would have completely blown away any guitarist with a phaser pedal and made them quit music altogether."
