Description:
The event will feature demonstrations by 18th Century Reenactors and presentations on the history of The Great Road by two period authors, Lee Offen and George Kegley, that are scheduled for Saturday. Plus there will be a wonderful display on 18th Century medicine and a detached Military Hospital. Demonstrations include flintlock muskets, camp cooking, knife and tomahawk throwing, leather work, 18th Century clothing and more.

The Great Road was the main thoroughfare going west to the Frontier. It was traveled by the likes of Daniel Boone, Andrew Lewis, William Preston, Adam Harman and the Ingles and Draper families. This event honors all the travelers who passed through the valleys of Southwest Virginia in the quest for a better life.

There are no admission charges though donations are welcome. This is a rain or shine event.
