Butch Robins and his five-string banjo will kick off Christiansburg Library’s 25th Anniversary at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20. Memories will be shared at 1:00 p.m. by library employees and supporters who helped move the library from Radford Road to its current location in 1986.

At 2:00 p.m. the Wilderness Road Chorus of Sweet Adelines will ‘ring the chord’ with their a cappella singing and lemonade will be served on the lawn. At 3:00 p.m. the anniversary celebration will conclude with a 1986 Trivia Game.

All activities are free and open to the public.

Those who want to compete for prizes in the trivia game should register a team of two to four players by signing up at the Christiansburg Library during open hours or calling 382-6965, ext. 15; registration ends at Noon on August 20.

Additionally, from August 6 to August 20 visitors to the library will have the opportunity to see a display of pictures and information about the history of the Christiansburg Library and listen to Top 40 chartbusters of twenty-five years ago. Visitors may also want to test their memories by answering trivia questions about events of 1986 and submit their answers to the circulation desk. Answers will be checked and winners announced during the trivia game activity on August 20.
