Local resident Ed Blackford will share the excitement of finding diamonds and powder gold and show slides of his experience in Guyana at the Christiansburg Library on Thursday, July 14 at 6:30 p.m. As a representative of the Dream Hole Mining Company Mr. Blackford has met with the Guyanese Prime Minister and taught panning and sampling techniques to investors and staff.
Retired from the Army, Mr. Blackford is now chief artist in residence at Star Watch Studio where he creates silver jewelry. He supports the community through service to the Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, YMCA, and other groups, and he and his team, The Coal Hollow Brothers, are three time state champion chefs for the West Virginia Road Kill Cook Off.
