Description:
Celebrate where Revolutionary War patriots trod. Bring a picnic, family and friends to the grounds of Historic Smithfield Plantation, the circa 1774 home of Revolutionary War Colonel William Preston and his wife Susanna.
Events include:
- Revolutionary War Encampment
- Games and Crafts
- Dancing and teaching weaving on rocker beater loom
- Weaving spinning wool dying
- Tatting
- Surgeon smocking
- Blacksmith
- Log Cabin BBQ
There will also be special walk-thru house tours. The tours are $4.00 for adults, $2.00 for children 13 to college age, and free for all children under 13.
The event itself is free, but donations will be accepted.
