Noted Appalachian authors will present public readings as part of Radford University’s 34th annual Highland Summer Conference, the longest-known credit-based creative writing workshop in the Appalachian region.

Tonight's featured writer is Ralph Berrier. Ralph Berrier, Jr. is a features reporter at The Roanoke Times. He has written extensively about Virginia’s mountain music history. If Trouble Don’t Kill Me is Ralph’s first book.

Ralph’s work has been honored by the Scripps Howard Foundation’s National Jounalism Awards, the American Association of Sunday and Feature Editors, the Atlantic City Press Club’s National Headliner Awards, the Newspaper Association of American and the Virginia Press Association.

The HSC begins Monday, June 6 and continues through Friday, June 19. Readings are at 7:30 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday of the conference on the third floor of McConnell Library at Radford University.
