The Christiansburg Police department will be registering bikes and have a course set up to instruct young riders in bike handling, hand signals, proper helmet usage, etc. Wal-Mart employees will inspect bikes for mechanical safety, such as proper brake adjustment, chain play, tire pressure, etc. The event will take place in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
Two bikes will be given away during the event, one for a male and one for a female. A limited number of bike helmets will also be available for those that need them. This is a FREE event and all children are welcome to attend! Call Sgt. Tucker or Officer Fields at the Christiansburg Police Department with any questions at 540-382-3131.
