Description:
The Texas sun is blazing white; the day is long and the work is hard. Down at the honky tonk, the beer is cold, the music hot, and cares are soon forgotten. The high lonesome strains tell tales of trains, trails, and troubles. Dust off your cowboy boots and c’mon in. Featuring the Halliday Line.
Our old local favorite Liam Kelly (Jugbusters, Old Man Kelly) is making a special trip from Charlottesville to kick off the month with a special brand of Honky Tonk for boot-scootin and old-timey country croonin, all with a blues-rag and western-swing feel. Kelly plays a haunting pedal steel on top of guitar and banjo duties
Honky Tonk dance is a twirly, grindy mix of shuffle and sway. There are folks in Blacksburg that do it regular-like, and they’ll be there to show you how.
