Description:
“An American Turning Point: The Civil War in Virginia” is a 6 panel exhibition that will be displayed prominently throughout the House to tell the story of the Civil War in Virginia. The panels’ topics range from slavery, battles, the home front, and reconstruction. The project is also sponsored by the National Endowment for the Humanities and being brought to Smithfield by the Montgomery County Sesquicentennial Committee. This exhibition will be during normal tour hours and will be on display until May 30, 2011.
