The Radford Noon Rotary, Radford VFW Post 776 and the General William Campbell Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) and Glencoe Mansion host the opening ceremony for the the annual "A Tribute to Heroes" on the grounds of Glencoe Mansion on Monday, May 25, 2026. The ceremony will be the official start of the 2026 season of "A Tribute to Heroes", and will include remarks from Virginia Delegate Jason Ballard, Virginia DAR District VII Director Karen Finch, Radford Mayor David Horton, City Manager Todd Meredith, and the Reverend Jenene Lewis. The ceremony will also include an Honor Salute from Radford VFW Post 776. The event is meant as a dedication ceremony that provides a way to honor heroes of all types, from service members to individuals who have made an impact on someone’s life. The ceremony is free and open to the public. A Tribute to Heroes flags will be on display on the Glencoe Mansion lawn from Memorial Day through September 11, 2026. Individual flags are available for $50.00 per flag and it's not too late to sponsor a flag to honor someone.
